On Saturday, 20 February 2016, in the evening at 17:46, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 10.11), a Volkswagen Sharan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
