On Saturday, 20 February 2016, in the evening at 18:30, in Alytus, on Kalniškės street near No. 9 ir 13, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo, a Citroen Evasion, an Opel Zafira and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.71‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
