On Sunday, 21 February 2016, in the evening at around 19:00, in Ukmergės district municipality, on Vaitkuškio street, a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 23-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk (2.42‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
