On Sunday, 21 February 2016, in the evening at 21:45, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 59.72), an Iveco 35C17 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Iveco (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
