On Saturday, 27 February 2016, in the morning at 8:15, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 207.60), at a railway crossing, an Opel Vectra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.84‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
