On Saturday, 27 February 2016, in the evening at 20:27, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Seirijai–Simnas–Igliauka national road (kilometre 46.10), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Audi, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.88‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
