On Saturday, 19 March 2016, in the afternoon at 15:05, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 33), a collision with barriers occurred. The accident involved a Saab 9-3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Saab (11 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
