On Thursday, 24 March 2016, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 5.97), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
