On Sunday, 1 May 2016, in the evening at 18:09, in Klaipėdos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Kretinga (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) national road (kilometre 6), a BMW 728 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the BMW (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
