On Monday, 16 May 2016, in the morning at 7:11, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Tirkšliai–Bugeniai regional road (kilometre 3.37), an Opel Vectra rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
