On Friday, 10 June 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 128.02), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 407 and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
