On Wednesday, 15 June 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 10.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH12 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volvo (16 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
