On Thursday, 7 July 2016, in the evening at 20:31, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Švenčionėliai–Mielagėnai–Sariai regional road (kilometre 4), a Mazda 626 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Mazda, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs and failed to choose a safe speed.
