On Thursday, 14 July 2016, in the evening at 18:46, in Šilutės district municipality, Rūgalių village, on the Šilutė–Rūgailiai–Povilai regional road (kilometre 9.50), a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Ford (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene.
