On Saturday, 23 July 2016, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Molėtų district municipality, Žalvarių village, on Kaupų street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-5 and an Alfa Romeo 166. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Saab (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He refused a sobriety test and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
