On Sunday, 24 July 2016, in the evening at 19:02, in Alytaus district municipality, Salos village, on Kalvų street near No. 15, a Toyota Avensis registered in Great Britain hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Toyota (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.79‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
