On Monday, 25 July 2016, in the evening at around 19:00, in Druskininkų municipality, Viečiūnų village, on Jaunystės street near No. 11, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Sintra and an Infiniti FX 35. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Opel, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.18‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
