On Wednesday, 10 August 2016, in the afternoon at 15:04, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 75.12), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Outlander, a Ford Focus and a Mazda 323. Two people were injured — a 9-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized) and the 49-year-old driver of the Mazda (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (46 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober.
