On Saturday, 20 August 2016, in the afternoon at 14:50, in Biržų district municipality, Papilio village, on the Biržai–Parovėja–Kyliškiai regional road (kilometre 4), a Skoda Octavia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Skoda (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.71‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
