On Monday, 22 August 2016, in the evening at 17:07, in Kauno district municipality, Domeikavos village, on Sodų street, at the junction with Putinų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 323 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Mazda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
