On Wednesday, 31 August 2016, in the afternoon at 11:15, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 28.80), a Volkswagen Golf registered in Netherlands rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was under the influence of psychoactive substances. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
