On Saturday, 3 September 2016, in the afternoon at 14:46, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Raseiniai–Šilinė national road (kilometre 15.40), a Peugeot 307 registered in Sweden ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.40‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
