On Wednesday, 7 September 2016, in the morning at around 6:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 180), a Volkswagen Touareg hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
