On Sunday, 18 September 2016, in the evening at around 21:00, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl. near No. 98, a Kawasaki ZX 600 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 44-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. He was drunk (1.89‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
