On Monday, 19 September 2016, in the afternoon at 13:20, in Molėtų district municipality, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Colt and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
