On Friday, 30 September 2016, at night at 0:56, in Alytus, on Naujoji street near No. 4, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a BMW Serie 5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to give way when changing direction, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.92‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
