On Sunday, 9 October 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Matuizų village, on Dzūkų street near No. 2, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 Avant and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Audi 80 Avant (15 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
