On Sunday, 18 September 2016, in the afternoon at 15:50, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 18), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 330D, an Audi 100 Avant and an Oshkosh registered in United States. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction and failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
