On Monday, 14 November 2016, in the morning at around 8:00, in Klaipėda, on Naujoji Uosto street near No. 23, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the MAN (38 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
