On Sunday, 20 November 2016, in the evening at 17:17, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on the Kazlų Rūda–Pažėrai regional road (kilometre 4.60), an Audi A4 Avant rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (0.52‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
