On Monday, 28 November 2016, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Raudondvario pl., at the junction with Ringailės street, a Mazda 626 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 36-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Mazda (26 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and failed to give way when changing direction. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
