On Tuesday, 29 November 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Vaidoto street near No. 51, an Opel hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 11-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 11-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Opel (29 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
