On Sunday, 4 December 2016, at night at around 3:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 47), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Ford Kuga and a vehicle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene.
