On Sunday, 4 December 2016, in the afternoon at 14:55, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 19.32), a collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6, a Volkswagen Golf, a Krone SDP27 registered in Poland, a Scania registered in Poland and a Setra S 315. Two people died — the 62-year-old driver of the Volkswagen and the 30-year-old driver of the Audi. Seven people were injured — a 64-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient), a 27-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized), a 7-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient), a 62-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient), a 54-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient), a 57-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient) and a 43-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient). All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
