On Sunday, 1 January 2017, in the evening at around 17:00, in Šilalės district municipality, on M. Valančiaus street near No. 4, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 307 and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Peugeot (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She was drunk (0.58‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
