On Friday, 6 January 2017, in the evening at 17:13, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 47.45), a Mercedes-Benz Actros 2541 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 37-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by a 37-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. Both drivers were sober.
