On Tuesday, 10 January 2017, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Šiauliai, on Vytauto street, at the junction with Tilžės street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Peugeot 307. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
