On Friday, 13 January 2017, in the evening at 17:45, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 26.50), a DAF FT XF105 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the DAF (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
