On Tuesday, 17 January 2017, at night at around 4:00, in Vilnius, on Gabijos street near No. 7, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
