On Saturday, 11 February 2017, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Lazdijų district municipality, Babrauninkų village, on the Verstaminai–Babrauninkai regional road (kilometre 9.40), a Ford Galaxy ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober.
