On Tuesday, 14 February 2017, in the afternoon at 12:20, in Kaunas, on Tvirtovės al. near No. 35, a Mercedes-Benz hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
