On Monday, 13 February 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Stoties Tilžės, on Stoties street, at the junction with Tilžės street, a Nissan Quest hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Nissan (24 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
