On Thursday, 9 March 2017, in the afternoon at 11:26, in Joniškio district municipality, Kurmaičių village, on the Kepaliai–Gasčiūnai–Meškuičiai regional road (kilometre 6.20), a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
