On Friday, 31 March 2017, in the evening at 21:50, in Alytaus district municipality, Butrimonių town, on V. Kudirkos street near No. 31, an Opel Vectra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 48-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
