On Sunday, 9 April 2017, at night at around 1:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Dirkintų village, on the Šilalė–Žadeikiai regional road (kilometre 1.89), a Peugeot 406 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene.
