On Friday, 14 April 2017, in the afternoon at 16:32, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Šalčininkai–Butrimonys–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 12.08), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Chrysler Neon and a Volvo V70. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the Chrysler (hospitalized) and the 38-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Chrysler (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
