On Thursday, 20 April 2017, in the evening at 19:12, in Telšių district municipality, on Plungės street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra, a bicycle and a bicycle. Two people were injured — a 32-year-old cyclist (treated as an outpatient) and a 30-year-old cyclist (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Opel (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
