On Sunday, 23 April 2017, in the evening at 22:07, in Biržų district municipality, on the Pasvalys–Vabalninkas regional road (kilometre 25), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a Honda Civic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.72‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
