On Wednesday, 26 April 2017, in the morning at 5:45, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 41), a BMW 525 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
