On Thursday, 27 April 2017, at night at 2:15, in Zarasų district municipality, Asavytų village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 177), at a public-transport stop, a Hyundai registered in Germany ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 85-year-old driver of the Hyundai (20 years of driving experience), who was taken ill at the wheel. The driver was sober.
